This powerful, intelligent metal detector will help you find treasures that have been both lost and missed by the generations before you. The following information comes from our own experience with the Minelab Sovereign GT and is meant to help those who are thinking about getting one for the first time as well as those who already have one.
The Minelab Sovereign GT comes with a 10” submersible, “Slimline” search coil that comes from the “Tornado” series. It features its own on-board transmit circuitry, which adds power and depth to your detector. This allows you to pinpoint your targets easily because you can cover more ground with each sweep, with almost zero overlapping!
Possibly the most impressive aspect of the Sovereign GT is its 17 frequencies. This is possible thanks to the BBS (Broad Band Spectrum) technology. Find thin gold nuggets and delicate jewelry other detectors miss, while ignoring hot rocks, salt, terra cotta and overall changing ground conditions.
The Sovereign GT’s 17 frequencies literally provide an “Iron Mask” feature that allows you to reject iron, yet still detect good, valuable treasure scattered among it. The range of the Sovereign GT transmission is from 1.5 kHz to 25.5 kHz (done in 1.5 kHz increments). All 17 frequencies are transmitted together at one time, operating simultaneously with multiple tone responses.
Thankfully these multiple, simultaneous frequencies are easy-to-use and understand. Just like a single frequency detector, you turn on the Sovereign GT, set the controls between operating modes, and start your treasure hunt. Also featured on the Sovereign GT is the new “Accu-Track Digital Ground Balance” with selectable “Fixed” or “Automatic” tracking options – giving you more depth with each step. The Sovereign GT will do the majority of the work by interpreting target signals, removing ground mineralization interference and analyzing the remaining signal. The only sound you’ll hear is the one indicating you’ve found treasure!
