This powerful, intelligent metal detector will help you find treasures that have been both lost and missed by the generations before you. The following information comes from our own experience with the Minelab Quattro MP and is meant to help those who are thinking about getting one for the first time as well as those who already have one.
The Minelab Quattro MP comes with a 10” Double ‘D’ coil that contains two ‘D’ shaped windings and is perfect for locating deep targets. The Double ‘D’ coil provides you with a detection pattern as you search that is “blade like” and is sensitive from tip to heel. This allows you to pinpoint your targets easily because you can cover more ground with each sweep, with almost zero overlapping!
We would like to tell you to turn on the Quattro MP and go, but we’d much rather tell you to play with all the functions and settings. The LCD interface on this machine is incredibly easy-to-use and completely intuitive. With simple access to key functions, programming it is a breeze. The digital screen provides larger target coordinates and improved menu fonts making it easy on the eyes. You’ll see programmable options for all four separate programs: “coin,” “coin & jewelry,” “all metal,” and “relic.”
But perhaps the best part of the Quattro MP is the FBS (Full Band Spectrum) technology. Multiple frequencies can be simultaneously transmitted to provide you with a treasure’s signal that is analyzed from a wider range of responses. FBS technology gives you greater detecting depth, consistent sensitivity over a wide range of targets, less interference from electromagnetic sources, and more accurate identification of target characteristics.
The FBS technology is also key to the ground balancing. No constant readjustment of your ground balance is necessary with this detector since the FBS technology uses advanced digital filtering to eliminate the influence of ground signals.
