Nautilus VLF DMC II Metal Detector with 15 inch Coil
Nautilus metal detectors are handcrafted and made with very high quality parts. The electronics used in the metal detectors are designed for high quality to provide long lasting reliable use.
Whether is be a Civil War campsite, a Revolutionary War fort, an 18th century cellar hole or an early picnic grove. Nautilus DMC series metal detectors continue to give unmatched performance.
The DMC II is a dual mode detector for use in highly mineralized soil where maximum performance is required in all-metal and discrimination modes. Features 2 modes: Ground Reject Discriminate mode and VLF Ground Balance. Discrimination, ground balance, discrimination sensitivity control, ground balance sensitivity control, turning control
A Word About Nautilus Searchcoils Starting from the bottom up, Nautilus searchcoils are wound and constructed entirely at the Tyndall Electronic factory in Coats, North Carolina. New construction techniques and materials have made them lighter and more sensitive than ever before in the history of the company. Each searchcoil is fine tuned to the electronics that it will be shipped with insuring each detector that leaves the factory is optimized. SIzes for the DMC coils are available in 6, 8, 10 and 15 inch diameters. The six-inch diameter model is currently in production for high trash coins and relic hunting locations. Early prototypes tested of the 6 Inch coil were found to be excellent in areas other detectorist walk away from.
All coils have thick mounting lugs and a heavy duty cable strain relief. There are no "whimpy" cable connectors used on the DMC I. All connectors are strictly heavy-duty, nickel plated with a threaded clamp ring. Nautilus searchcoils and the entire quality parts inventory of Nautilus construction are engineered to keep you in the field longer. Stainless steel hardware is used throughout the DMC I construction.
This sturdy, highly-effective metal detector will help you find treasures that have been both lost and missed by the generations before you. The Nautilus VLF DMC II is very affordable and features two simple operating modes and an optimized searchcoil. The following information comes from our own experience with the VLF DMC II and is meant to help those who are thinking about getting one for the first time as well as those who already have one.
The model we’re featuring comes standard with a state of the art searchcoil made from light-weight material. The VLF DMC II comes standard with a 10” coil, but 6”, 8”, and 15” searchcoils are also available. These searchcoil are versatile and deep-seeking, making them effective for any type of detecting. Of course Nautilus optimizes each detector to the specific coil you purchase it with, insuring optimal performance right out of the box!
The specifications on this detector are dense but plentiful. The audio discrimination is 950 hz while the operating frequency is 14kHz. You can physically configure the handle in “S” or “U” choice, with the standard grey enclosure and accompanying padded headphones. Switches included on the VLF DMC are “on/off,” “Dual/Single Tone,” and adjustable “Threshold.”
The DMC II is designed to be a dual mode detector for use in highly mineralized soil. This is where you need maximum performance from your detector in the “all-metal” and “discrimination” modes. The two modes on the DMC II are “Ground Reject Discrimination” mode and “VLF Ground Balance” mode. What makes the DMC II different from any other detector is that you can monitor both of these modes at the same time! This allows you to adjust the “VLF Ground Balance” for the terrain you’re hunting and get a weaker signal for the more conductive target. For example, an aluminum pull-tab can be detected deeper than a quarter approximately the same size.
The construction of the Nautilus VLF DMC Metal Detectors is solid and sturdy. While they tend to weigh more than many other detectors, they are also significantly better built and more reliable. All connectors are strictly heavy-duty, nickel-plated, with a threaded clamp ring. The coils are all mounted with thick lugs and a heavy duty cable strain relief. Stainless steel hardware is used throughout the DMC II construction, and its total weight is 4.3 to 4.5lbs.
We’re Friends Who Love This Hobby Metal Detectors for Less was born after four treasure hunting friends spent almost 30 years on sites all over the world hunting for treasure. We were frequently asked “What are you doing?” as we walked over all kinds of terrain searching for targets, and after explaining the joy, excitement, and descriptions of treasures found, many people wanted to know where they could get their own metal detector. Since we were all familiar with all different kinds of metal detectors, either from our own tried and true experience with a brand or from being employed at metal detector distributors, we offered some good advice for people; where they could find the best detector, and more importantly, the best price for their needs. After years of passing our favorite hobby on to friends and acquaintances we decided to do the same for anyone who wants to get the best detector at the best price. We really believe that metal detectors are fun to use, great exercise, and pays off in finds of money, rings, jewelry, gold, relics, artifacts and, in many cases, real treasures. And thus, Metal Detectors for Less was born – from friends who genuinely love our hobby.
No High Prices Are Allowed Since we’re serious about our business we buy metal detecting equipment in large quantities – not only metal detectors, but accessories, books and DVD’s too. This allows us to save money and pass those savings on to our customers; you! We have no over-head, no rent, and no store. All we worry about is warehouse spaces in four complexes that stay stocked all the time. Any orders you place with us we are able to get out as soon as possible, from the warehouse that’s closest to you. Great Service by a Knowledgeable Staff Is Mandatory We strive to have the greatest and most knowledgeable staff in the country ready to assist you in all things related to metal detecting. Since our background is in distributing metal detectors as well as using them, we believe in dealing “One on One” with each customer. This ensures that each of our customers is 100% satisfied with their new purchase, and that they look forward to a new or continued hobby with excitement and anticipation.
We aren’t like those companies that sell everything from clothing to furniture, and maybe a few metal detectors on the side. All we sell is metal detectors, because that is what we know, and that is what we love. With 30 years experience in the field of metal detecting we can promise that we will be here to support you long after all those other companies have disappeared.
